Cheapest in-store roses

Our round-up of prices at major supermarkets

Over-commercialised spending is one of our bugbears – you should never feel the pressure to buy stuff just because the calendar tells you it's Valentine's Day.

If you are planning to mark it with red roses though, make sure you're not paying over the odds. Bunches of 12 start from £3.47 at supermarkets, but in the past, stores have engaged in the 'war of the roses' and cut prices even further on Valentine's Day itself.

Expect short-stemmed standard roses – we've not included any premium ranges. The cost of roses can shoot up if they are long-stemmed, or ethically/locally sourced. If you want more bang for your buck, consider alternatives such as tulips.

How to jazz up a £4/£5 bunch

With a bit of creative flair, you can make a £4/£5 bunch of supermarket roses look a lot pricier for next to nothing. Wrap them in some attractive paper (no need to spend more than £1), attach a self-penned poem (get some inspiration from Google or ChatGPT) and you're sure to be in your loved one's good books.

Valid at 300+ brands including Just Eat, eBay and more

You can now collect Morrisons More points when spending at over 300 participating brands, such as eBay, Very, Just Eat and Asos.

Similar to a cashback website, you'll need to log in and visit the partner offers page. Click on a retailer and select the offer you want to redeem. You'll then be taken to the retailer's website to make your purchase as normal. Your visit should be tracked by Morrisons and your points should show within seven days, but – with any cashback – this can never be guaranteed. Check Top cashback sites for what to watch out for.

Once you've hit 5000 More points, you can redeem a £5 voucher, so 1,000 points is the equivalent of £1 . Make sure you compare this deal to the rates offered by Topcashback and Quidco to make sure you're getting the best cashback possible.

See the Morrisons More Partners FAQs for more details.

You cannot use this Morrisons deal alongside any other discounts/offers.

Often includes potatoes, carrots, peas & more

If you go in-store or online at Morrisons, you can get selected vegetables and fruit branded 'wonky', which may be slightly irregular in shape or appearance, but totally fine to eat.

In most cases, it's the cheapest way to eat fresh at Morrisons, and means it's often priced competitively against other major supermarkets. What's available will depend on the season and stock in your local store.

Between 8am-9am only

Via self-serve machine. Excludes Sundays

If you're on-the-go at a Morrisons Café between 7am-8am Monday to Saturday, you can pick up a takeaway hot drink for £1.

There's no code or voucher needed to claim, just order at the self-serve kiosk and hot drinks will be reduced to £1 during that hour.

Morrisons told us that any coffee, tea or hot chocolate from the self service machine are included in this deal, and would normally cost between £1.85-£2.50. These drinks are one-size only and oat milk is available with a black americano or a black tea, but any other drink that comes with milk cannot be changed.

There's currently no end date to the offer.

Incl using supermarket coupons and tracking offers

There are always ways to save money at Morrisons* so even if there isn't a cracking deal out there that works for you, don't assume you can't cut your costs further.

Ways to save include:

  • Supermarket coupons. Make sure you check out our supermarket coupons page to save on your shopping.

  • Take the Downshift Challenge. The phrasing and language used in shops hypnotises us into thinking the most costly is best. While the packaging looks more opulent, look beneath it sometimes you won't be able to tell the difference (often it's even made in the same factory). Take our Downshift Challenge.

  • Track if it's really a bargain. Most of us know just because a supermarket lists an item as "on offer", that doesn't mean it's cheap. The trouble has been sorting awesome offers from poor promos.

  • Time trips right to bag huge yellow sticker discounts. If you spot a yellow sticker discount - fantastic. Grab it and use it quickly as it's a saving on perfectly good nosh. See when Morrisons normally reduces its produce in our Cheap Supermarket Shopping guide.

  • Check out similar retailers, eg, Asda, Sainsbury’s and the other major supermarkets. If you're not committed to buying from Morrisons, check out our deals from AsdaAldiTescoSainsbury'sLidl and Waitrose, where they may have a better offer.

  • Try haggling. We polled 1,400 MoneySavers to find out in which shops hagglers have most success. Supermarkets did feature, so it's worth a go. Find out more in our Haggle on the High Street guide.

  • Had a problem with Morrisons? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Morrisons*.

If you spot any hot deals out there we have missed (we are human after all!), email us at msedeals@moneysavingexpert.com or via Twitter @MSE_Deals.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
