How to get this freebie

Simply fill out the Netmums online form with your name, address and email – Netmums says the voucher will be posted to you within two weeks.

It's one pack per person (but a parent and grandparent could each do it), and once you’ve received your voucher, show it at the checkout in any Aldi store (find your nearest). We can’t guarantee your local will have the nappies in stock so it’s best to do it as part of a bigger shop rather than making a special trip.

If you haven't received your voucher within two weeks, email producttrials@netmums.com. Netmums has confirmed your data is only shared with a third party fulfilment company so it can send your voucher, and won’t be used for any other purpose.

What is Netmums?

Netmums is an online community for parents. Its site includes a range of topics and content including recipes, product reviews, courses, a newsletter and a forum known as 'Coffee House', to share advice and get support from others going through the same experience.

Availability is limited and these popular toys tend to go fast

Aldi and Lidl both launched their annual wooden toy events on Thursday 8 October. Aldi has 50+ toys from £3.99, while Lidl has 140+ from £1.79. Lidl Plus members (free to join) can also get an extra 10% off Lidl's range until Wednesday 14 October.

Some examples at Aldi include:

Kitchen - £29.99
Supermarket playset - £29.99
Vanity table with mirror & stool - £34.99
Dollhouse - £34.99

Some examples at Lidl include:

Tabletop grill - £14.99 (£13.49 with Lidl Plus)
Ice cream cart - £17.99 (£16.99 with Lidl Plus)
Double-sided easel - £17.99 (£16.99 with Lidl Plus)
Disney Princess castle - £29.99 (£26.99 with Lidl Plus)

See 'More info' below for an extended list of products at both supermarkets.

Important: These products launched in stores on Thursday 8 October so stock is likely to be very limited now. These toys have proved popular in previous years, and we can't check stock in all stores, so it may not be worth making a special trip. At Aldi, there's a limit of two wooden toy products per customer.

Which wooden toy sale is best?

While Lidl has the bigger selection, Aldi is generally cheaper on comparable larger playsets. For example, Aldi's wooden kitchen costs £29.99, compared with £49.99 at Lidl (or £44.99 with Lidl Plus), while Aldi's vanity table is £34.99 versus £39.99 at Lidl (or £35.99 with Lidl Plus).

How do these prices compare to other retailers?

From what we've seen, Aldi and Lidl tend to be among the cheapest places to buy larger wooden playsets. For example, Aldi's wooden kitchen is £29.99, compared with £80 for one at John Lewis. Similar wooden kitchens often cost £55 to £75 at Amazon.

2x polo shirts – £1.75
Girl's pleated skirt – £1.75

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
