Egg Money cardholders will see the interest they earn on in-credit balances plummet from a top-paying 4% at present to nothing by mid-May.

Halifax has relaunched its cashback credit card, which pays users up to 1% of the amount they spend on it. For every £100 you rack-up on groceries or fuel, you’ll earn £1 (or 50p if you spend on anything else), up to a maximum of £150/year.

Lenders will be banned from selling loan insurance within a week of selling a credit card or loan, it was announced today.
