On your birthday via Subway Rewards loyalty app

Register or update your details with the new Subway Rewards app to get one free cookie (normally 99p) around the time of your birthday. You can redeem the offer by scanning the code in your app next time you order in store or via the app.

If you spend over £150 in a calendar year ('Hot Shot' level), you'll be offered a 'free' cookie (normally 99p) or bag of crisps (normally £1.06). If you spend over £350 in a year ('The Boss' level), you'll be offered a 'free' 6" sub sandwich (normally £5-£6 depending on type) for your birthday.

What else does the loyalty card get me?

You can collect 10, 11, or 12 points per £1 spent, depending on rewards level. When you've 150 points, you can exchange them for £1 'Subway Cash' to spend on anything from the menu.

Important: If you don't use your card for six months, you'll lose all accrued points and have to start again from zero.

FREE Subway cookie

Via its Rewards app. No purchase necessary

Sign in to the Subway Rewards app (it's free) and you can claim one totally free cookie (normally about £1-£1.50) until Wednesday 31 December at a participating Subway restaurant (those that accept its Rewards app – find your nearest).

The offer should appear automatically in your app, and you can choose any regular cookie. There's no purchase necessary, so you can just get the cookie if that's all you fancy.

Subway kids eat 'free'

When an adult buys a Footlong Sub

If you're visiting a Subway (find your nearest), you can get a kids' meal for free (normally from £3.39) when purchasing any Footlong Sub sandwich during October half term. The offer is valid all day from Friday 25 October until store closing time on Friday 31 October.

This offer is only available in selected stores and Subway told us you can find a list of participating stores here.

There's no voucher needed, this will be automatically applied when ordering a full price Footlong Sub and a kids' pack meal in the same transaction. This can be purchased to eat in or takeaway, but cannot be used via 'click n collect' or third-party-providers (such as Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat).

The kids' meal includes a four-inch sub, snack and drink.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
