Including booking early and using 'Saver' rates

There are always ways to save money at Premier Inn, so even if there isn’t a cracking deal out there that works for you, don’t assume you can’t cut your costs further.

Ways to save include:

  • Book early. Premier Inn sets the prices of its rooms depending on the level of demand, so by booking early you’re more likely to get the best deal. In general, its rooms are put on sale one year in advance.

  • Look for ‘Saver’ rates. Available at most Premier Inn hotels, ‘Saver’ rates start from £35 and are only available online. But be warned, unlike ‘Flex’ rates, these bookings are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-amendable.

  • Kids eat 'free'. Up to two children under the age of 16 can eat breakfast 'free' when one adult orders a full Premier Inn breakfast, which normally costs £9-£11ish depending on the hotel.

  • Do a quick comparison. If you're not committed to staying at Premier Inn, do a comparison on Trivago* and TravelSupermarket* to see if brokers are offering cheaper stays at other hotels in your chosen location.

  • Free Wi-Fi. You can connect to Wi-Fi for free in all Premier Inn hotels, but there's a data limit of 1GB per user per day.

  • Check out similar companies. Have a look at our deals from Travelodge, Wyndham Hotel Group (Wyndham, Ramada, Days Inn) and Lastminute.com, where there may be a better offer.

  • Want more? Read our Cheap Hotels guide for lots of price-cutting techniques.

  • Had a problem with Premier Inn? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Premier Inn*.

Premier Inn 20% off three or more nights

Standard rate (non-refundable) stays till 30 Sept. We spotted Manchester for £31/night

If you're planning a UK summer getaway, you can bag 20% off at over 850 Premier Inn hotels when booking three or more consecutive nights online by 11.59pm on Monday 7 July. It's for stays up to Tuesday 30 September (so check-out date can be no later than Wednesday 1 October).

No discount code is needed – select the '20% off summer getaways - Standard' option when choosing your rate during the booking process.

The discount is only valid on Premier Inn's 'Standard' rate – this requires full payment at the time of booking and is non-refundable. However, if your plans change, you can amend your check-in date (provided you're staying at the same hotel) until 1pm on your scheduled day of arrival. You can't get this deal on 'Flex' and 'Non-Flex' rates. See full offer terms and conditions.

Here are a few examples of prices we spotted when checking on Wednesday 25 June:

  • Manchester City Centre West, Sunday 10 to Wednesday 13 August, £92.80 (£31/night)

  • Cardiff City Centre, Sunday 10 to Wednesday 13 August, £116 (£39/night)

  • Glasgow East Kilbride Central, Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 September, £116.80 (£39/night)

Don't assume Premier Inn will be the cheapest place to stay, even with this offer. Compare prices elsewhere and see our cheap hotel deals guide for tips on getting the best price.

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
