Happy New Year to all MSE Forum readers and participants. The first week of 2023 yielded a bevy of notable threads to help, inspire and tickle you. Here are a few highlights.

The MSE Forum is a one-of-a-kind place, and a big part of what makes our community so special is the way MoneySavers encourage one another by joining challenges. These quests range from ways to meet your savings goals to ideas for setting budgets so that you can trim your spending.

While it's the season for indulgence, we invite you to indulge in a little nostalgia – a fond backward glance at the last year in the MSE Forum. The MSE Forum staged its second Ask An Expert event last month. This time, deals and shopping were the focus. Our expert MSE Oli,  Assistant Deals & Features Editor, took questions on everything from return rights to fancy Advent calendars.

My name is Katie and I’m a shopaholic.  It may surprise you to know that someone at MSE Towers can be guilty of spending on things they don’t need. But as with everyone, we all have money-saving work to do. For those with a spending habit, this season can be particularly difficult, as new products are launched, sales are pushed at you from every angle, and discounts are deeper than at any other time of year. For those with mental health challenges, it’s even worse.
