Money Moral Dilemma
Every week, the Money Tips email features a real-life Money Moral Dilemma (MMD for short). They're intended to encourage debate and, as such, they're usually among the most discussed threads each week.
Should I have to pay for clothing my friend wants me to wear for her 'wedding'?
My friend is having an introduction ceremony, which is a traditional Nigerian event which celebrates her and her partner coming together. She's asked me to be part of her entourage, which she said is like being a bridesmaid, and explained she wanted me to wear traditional clothing. I was delighted to be asked and agreed. She's since said the clothing will cost me around £100. Typically, I'm the sort of person who'd pay to save any embarrassment, but it's her decision for me to wear it - what should I do?

Your two cents
Rosa_Damascena was inspired by a recent theatre trip to start a new thread on the Old Style MoneySaving board: "I was lucky enough to see the wonderful Lenny Henry in Every Brilliant Thing this month (other actors are available) and it made me think about things in life that are genuinely to be appreciated.
"I don't wish to replicate the 5 OS pleasures in your day today thread which will of course have some elements of repetition within its 25k+ posts - but ask that we limit ourselves to a single thing that truly brings us happiness for little or no cost and broadly detail whether there has been any investment to get us there." What will you add to the list?
