Seven major airports across the UK upped the cost of dropping off passengers over the last year, a MoneySavingExpert investigation reveals – and five now charge a whopping £6 or more to let someone out at the kerb. If you need a new passport, you should apply for one now, as application fees are set to rise by around 7% on Thursday 11 April.

If you collect Avios – the reward currency of the British Airways 'Executive Club' loyalty scheme – and you're planning to convert them into Nectar points, you should make the swap before Monday 11 March. From this date, the value of Avios being converted to Nectar will be slashed. But only do this if you're sure you won't use your Avios for reward flights, as that can be much more lucrative.

If you're an Easyjet passenger who was issued a voucher during the Covid-19 pandemic, you've just days left to use it before it expires by the end of Wednesday 31 January. Around £58 million worth of these vouchers were yet to be redeemed, according to a November 2023 report published by the airline.

If your Wizz Air flight has been delayed or cancelled in the past six years AND the airline refused to refund you for additional costs incurred, such as replacement flights, you could now get your money back, as the airline's been forced to review previously rejected claims – but you may need to resubmit your complaint.

Some British Airways passengers have been mistakenly charged twice after booking flights and holidays through its website this month, the airline has confirmed. It's left some £1,000s out of pocket and pushed others into their overdrafts. If you were overcharged, you'll be refunded automatically – though you'll need to apply to reclaim any extra costs incurred, such as overdraft and credit card fees.

Rail fares in England will rise by up to 4.9% next year, the Government has announced. The increases will come into effect on 3 March 2024.

The fare for thousands of single bus journeys in England will be capped at £2 until 31 December 2024. It could save passengers a third off the cost of a ticket on average, according to the Department for Transport (DfT), which is behind the move.
