Three and Vodafone customers will be hit with price hikes of up to 4.5% over the next few months, the telecoms providers have confirmed. But only those who are out of contract can cancel penalty-free. 

Three pay-as-you-go mobile users will see the cost of calls, texts and data rocket from 16 February, with the price of sending a text outside Europe increasing by an eye-watering 1,650%. But you can leave penalty-free and switch to a cheaper deal. 

Vodafone and Three pay-monthly mobile or broadband customers who sign up to a new deal or upgrade to a fresh contract face steep price hikes next year, after the companies made changes to their terms and conditions. Once you've agreed to a new deal – from 29 October for Three, and 9 December for Vodafone – you're locked into the price rise, so it's important to be aware of it BEFORE you sign up.

Mobile giants Three and O2 are raising prices, upping the cost of pay-monthly customers' mobile bills by 2.7%, MoneySavingExpert.com can reveal.

Mobile network Three has announced it is to close its Wuntu rewards app next month – and you'll need to redeem any offers you've got from it before then to avoid losing out.
