British Gas is to cut gas prices by 5% for the second time this year – but even after that, its standard tariffs will cost on average £250/year more than the cheapest.
Co-op Energy was a customer service darling last December, with 63% of its customers rating it great and just 7% rating it poor. But in a staggering turnaround, just six months later over half of its customers (56%) rate its service as poor and just 22% rate it great.
Nectar card holders who fill up at Sainsbury's petrol stations will earn 10 points per litre of fuel from today instead of one point per litre. But it comes just a day before the supermarket cuts the number of points shoppers can earn in-store.
Sainsbury's Nectar card customers may want to hold on to points as they'll be able to exchange them for vouchers twice their usual value in a few weeks time to spend on selected items including toys, homeware and TU Clothing.
British Gas has become the second Big Six energy provider to announce price cuts this year, but the drop doesn't take effect until 27 February and the 5% reduction only applies to gas.
Motorists filling up at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco will pay less for their fuel from Thursday after the supermarkets announced another price cut for both petrol and diesel.
