Royal Mail has warned that households across the UK could face delays to both parcel and letter deliveries between 24 November and Christmas Eve as 115,000 postal workers walk out for 11 days during the period, which includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Here's what you need to know and what you can do if you're facing delays.

You've now got just 100 days to use any non-barcoded everyday stamps – those with the Queen's profile on – before they become worthless on 31 January 2023. Alternatively, you can swap them for barcoded versions for free through Royal Mail's scheme. We take you through what you need to know below.

Royal Mail is shaking up the rules on stamps, so if you've got a stash that say '1st' or '2nd' class on them then by 31 January 2023 you'll no longer be able to simply stick 'em on a letter and use them. This is because Royal Mail is moving to a new barcode system, which these stamps don't have.

If you have old Christmas stamps you CAN continue to use them after 31 January 2023 following a Royal Mail U-turn. The postal service had initially announced, as part of a wider shake-up, that Christmas stamps would be replaced by new barcoded versions from 31 January 2023. This would have rendered old festive stamps useless unless swapped.

DPD Local has been ranked as the best parcel delivery firm in our annual poll of MoneySavingExpert.com users, while its sister company DPD – the previous winner of our poll – came second. At the other end of the scale, CitySprint and Yodel got the poorest ratings from MoneySavers. The results come after a hard year for parcel delivery firms in which they've been an essential supply line for many stuck at home.
