Current account customers will be given much clearer information on the charges they can expect to pay after an agreement was reached between providers and the authorities.
Tory leader David Cameron says victims of "unfair" bank charges must be compensated "quickly and fairly". He'll also consider automatic payback of all charges, which could total over £10 billion.
Banks have been given a further six months to sit on bank charges claims, pending the outcome of the test case to determine the fairness of these fees.
