The next update of the coronavirus 'traffic light' travel system, used to govern the action holidaymakers take when they return to the UK from overseas, is due to take place on Friday 17 September. This is expected to provide the latest information on which destinations will feature on the Government's 'green', 'amber' and 'red' travel lists - but it could also see an overhaul of the system entirely.

Travellers returning to Wales from abroad will be able to use cheap PCR tests from providers on the UK Government's list of approved firms from 21 September. Currently, those going to Wales have no choice over the PCR test provider they can use and can only book via the Corporate Travel Management portal.

Spain's Balearic Islands – including Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca – are to be moved from the Government's 'green' travel list to the amber list from Monday for travellers returning to England, Scotland and Wales. The change means holidaymakers who are not fully vaccinated or under 18 will have to self-isolate for up to 10 days on their return.
