A number of gyms are being investigated by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), to determine whether or not their contracts are unfair.

Unfair contracts that tie millions of landline and broadband customers into new deals on expiry, unless they opt out, will be banned.

Consumers can now benefit from shorter phone and broadband contracts as new regulations come into force today.

Businesses have been ordered to stop hiding key conditions from consumers in the small print.
