Plans to make people in Scotland who are made bankrupt pay debts for four years rather than three will lead to "increased human misery" for people in financial crisis, debt advice groups are warning.
Over 30 million people have received unwanted messages about claiming for mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI), figures from a Citizens Advice survey suggest.
Payday lenders have been branded as "out of control" by debt advice charity Citizens Advice, after it found cases where money had been lent to people who were aged under 18, had mental health issues, or were drunk when they took out the loan.
