Virgin Media O2 will no longer charge customers a disconnection fee if they move to homes that aren't connected to its cable network. The shake-up could save users £100s - though transfer fees of £20 remain for those who take their cable deal with them when moving home.

Millions of O2, Three and Virgin Mobile customers will be hit with price hikes of up to 11.7% this spring on the back of a sharp increase in the cost of living. More than a million Welsh households in council tax bands A to D will be given a £150 council tax credit to help with the cost of living crisis. The Bank of England has increased base rates to 0.5% from 0.25% after the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted in favour of a rise. The base rate is used by the central bank to charge other banks and lenders when they borrow money – and influences what borrowers pay and savers earn.

Londoners who use the tube and bus will have to pay more, London Mayor Sadiq Khan has announced today. Single tube fares will rise by 10p in Zone 1 and between 10p and 30p across the rest of the underground network.
