Barclaycard holders could have thousands of pounds added to their debt which could take decades longer to clear, after the provider changed its payment terms.
Energy customers are being overcharged an estimated £1.6 billion a year as providers are failing to pass on the falling prices they pay for energy to consumers, it is claimed.
Energy companies may have broken European Union (EU) rules and overcharged millions of prepay gas and electricity customers by nearly half a billion pounds.
