Smyths Black Friday deals

Includes 3for2 on Crayola and discounts on selected toys

Toy store Smyths has discounts on hundreds of items for its Black Friday sale online and in stores, including popular brand such as PlayStation, Tonies, Disney and more. While the sale isn't flagged as being a certain percentage off, here's an overview of the discounts we spotted:

Min discount: 6%
Max discount: 60%
Typical discount we found on ten random items: 24%

We also saw '3 for 2' on all Crayola products.

Unless there's a specific toy you're after that's included in the sale, we think Smyths sale was actually better last week where you could get £5 off when spending £50 to £99.99, or £10 off when spending £100+ in stores or online until 11.59pm on Sunday 23 November as it offered more flexibility on getting a discount.

Here are some examples of deals we spotted:

Important: Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by the hype around Black Friday and be sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford. Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you are getting the best deal possible.

Smyths Black Friday prediction

Black Friday 'specials' including £5 off £50 or £10 off £100 spend

🗓️ Predicted from Tuesday 18 November till Monday 1 December

Smyths offered a variety of toy deals for Black Friday last year both online and in-store, including buy-one-get-one-half-price on board games, 3for2 on Crayola, as well as price-matching consoles. It had an arguably better deal earlier in the month, where you could get £5 off a £50 or £10 off a £100 spend, which gave more choice as it applied to most items – that deal ran the week before Black Friday, so it's worth keeping an eye out for.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
