Pets at Home launched its Black Friday sale (or Black Furday as it calls it) on the first Wednesday in November last year, so it's likely to do the same this year. We're expecting up to 50% off 1,000+ selected items online and in stores. Last year, Pets at Home also added an extra 10% off code closer to Black Friday itself, so it could be worth holding out to see if this returns.

If you sign up to the free Pets at Home loyalty scheme (Pets Club) and download its app for iOS or Android and share your pet's date of birth, you can get a free birthday treat for your dog or cat.

During October half-term

If your kids love animals, Pets at Home is running free 'My Pet Pals' workshops in most of its 450+ stores during October half-term until Saturday 31 October (find your nearest store). Sessions run at 11am and 2pm and you'll need to book online.

The 45-minute workshops are themed around Halloween and Bonfire Night. Kids will get to meet some of the animals and learn how to handle small pets such as guinea pigs, hamsters and rats. There are also games and activities, and kids will get a certificate, sticker and colouring sheets to take home. Though sadly, you can't take any animals home with you!

All ages are welcome, though the sessions are designed for kids aged four and older. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

If your kids love animals, this could make for a fun and informative free day out. Pet products retailer Pets at Home is running totally free 'My Pet Pals' workshops for kids in most of its 450+ stores. These are on until Sunday 12 April, though dates will differ depending on where you live find your nearest store.

You'll just need to book your place online by filling in a form.

Sessions run at 2pm and last for 45 minutes. The workshops include activities such as creating and designing animal characters and learning how to care for pets. Plus, every child will receive a certificate, sticker and character headband and activity sheets to take home.

Children don't need to bring anything as all materials will be provided. Children of all ages are welcome, but sessions are designed for kids aged four and older, and they will need to be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. You need to book online for your chosen store, date and time.
