Pets at Home 'up to 50% off' sale

Discounts across beds, toys & accessories

Update 7.25am, Friday 28 November: Pets at Home has added at extra 10% off code: EXTRA10 for selected lines ending 11.59pm on Monday 1 December.

Pets at Home launched its Black Friday sale (or Black Furday as it's calling it) on Wednesday 5 November with 'up to 50% off' selected items online and in stores until Tuesday 2 December.

When we checked, the sale included 1,000+ items. For many of these, we couldn't find the exact items elsewhere, but it's always worth doing your research to see if similar products are within the same price range. Here are some examples of items in the sale we spotted on Wednesday 5 November:

Standard delivery's £2.95, or free for orders over £40. You can click & collect for free.

Important: Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by the hype around Black Friday and be sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford. Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you are getting the best deal possible – don’t just take a retailer’s word for it.

Pets at Home free kids' workshops

During summer holidays

If your kids love animals, this could make for a fun and informative free day out. Pet products retailer Pets at Home is running totally free 'My Pet Pals' workshops for kids in most of its 450+ stores. Dates will differ depending on where you livefind your nearest store:

  • Until Sunday 17 August – Scotland and Northern Ireland

  • From Saturday 19 July until Sunday 31 August – England and Wales

You'll just need to book your place online by filling in a form.

Sessions run at 2pm and last for 45 minutes. Children will discover which animals can ‘buddy up’ and enjoy living together and which prefer their own space – a fun way to learn about animal behaviour and companionship.

The workshops include activities such as creating and designing animal characters, activity sheets and learning how to care for pets. Plus, every child will receive a certificate and sticker for taking part.

Children don't need to bring anything as all materials will be provided. Children of all ages are welcome, but sessions are designed for kids aged four and older, and they will need to be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. You need to book online for your chosen store, date and time.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
