Theatre lover? Here's a way to watch top shows without paying for a pricey ticket or travelling to London.

The National Theatre's streaming service has 120+ performances from hit productions including Fleabag, All My Sons, Macbeth and A Streetcar Named Desire – and for the first time, it's offering a seven-day free trial for new subscribers.

Plus, enter the code MSE20 when signing up at National Theatre at Home* to get 20% off your first two months if you want to keep it (or you can cancel within the first seven days if you just want the free trial). It normally costs £9.99 a month, so the code will get it for £7.99 a month for the first two months.

The 20% off is valid when signing up by 11.59pm on Monday 5 October, or once 4,000 codes have been redeemed – whichever comes first.

Important. You'll need to enter payment details when you sign up, even if you just want to use the seven-day free trial. When the trial ends, your subscription automatically continues unless you cancel. If you signed up with the code MSE20, you'll pay £7.99 for the first and second months, then the standard monthly price (currently £9.99) until you cancel.

If you want to cancel, you'll need to do it by 11.30pm on the final day of your free trial (so on day seven) or the day before your monthly plan renews. Do this by logging into your account, selecting your avatar, then 'manage subscription' and 'cancel subscription'.

This code can't be used on annual subscriptions but it can be used on monthly gift subscriptions. It can't be used alongside any other offer, except for the free trial.

Depending on your card provider, you may see a 75p authorisation hold which is used to check payment details are valid. This may show as a pending charge for three to five business days, before dropping off without being charged.
