Until 31 January

Just show proof of your birthdate to claim. Locations mostly in London

Is your birthday in January? This one's for you...

Coffee company Grind* is giving away totally FREE coffee across its café locations (mostly London – find your nearest*) to anyone with a birthday in January. All you need to do to claim is show proof of your birthday, such as a passport, driving licence or any ID that shows your date of birth.

Coffee at Grind normally costs from £3, so we reckon this is a decent freebie as no other minimum spend is required. You have until Saturday 31 January to claim.

This is limited to one free coffee per person born in January. You can't redeem it at partner locations (these include Waterloo Station, Waterloo Brewdog, and National Theatre).

Not born in January? Here are other places you can claim a free coffee or tea, and check out where you can get other freebies whenever it's your birthday.

Grind coffee 30% off code*

Valid on ground coffee, beans, pods, gifts & more

Here's a way to save a latte on your coffee... We've brewed up a deal that'll get you 30% off online at coffee company Grind* when you enter the MSE Blagged code MSEDEC at the checkout by 11.59pm on Monday 15 December.

This is the strongest site-wide Grind code we see. It'll work on everything except for coffee/gift subscriptions, gift cards, the Grind Two pod machine, Sage x Grind machine and combined with other discounts. If you're shopping for Christmas presents, the code works alongside Grind's Christmas gifting range*.

Delivery's £3.95, or free if you're spending £30 or more. Grind has told us that its Christmas delivery cut-off is Friday 19 December, after the MSE Blagged code expires, so your orders should get to you by Christmas.

What is Grind? It's an independent coffee company, which launched in 2011. Grind says it's environmentally conscious, and all of its packaging is recyclable. Grind is stocked in stores such as Waitrose, Tesco, Ocado and Amazon. When we checked on Tuesday 9 December, it had a 4.3/5 score at Trustpilot, from over 11,900 reviews.

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
