2for1 gardens pass (for Leeds Castle, Shakespeare's Family Homes etc) in £8 magazine
Pass valid till April. Plus 'free' seeds for home (excludes Northern Ireland)
If you missed out on this popular deal back in April/May, it's unusually returned for a second time in the same year... The September 2025 issue of BBC Gardeners' World magazine comes with a pass giving 2for1 adult entry to 382 gardens across the UK, valid until early April 2026.
The magazine costs £7.99 at newsagents and supermarkets – it's on sale in stores until Wednesday 17 September. This is £2 cheaper than the May 2025 issue which included in the pass, to account for it being valid for fewer months (it'd normally be a year). You can buy the issue online at Mags Direct if you can't find a copy in-store (but postage will cost an additional £1 to mainland UK, or £3.95 to Northern Ireland).
The pass is valid for the gardens at Leeds Castle (saves £33), Haddon Hall (saves £28), Shakespeare's Family Homes (saves £25), Dunvegan Castle & Gardens (saves up to £17), and hundreds more. It's also valid at 69 National Trust gardens, 26 National Trust for Scotland gardens, and 12 English Heritage gardens. It's worth noting Kew Gardens and the Eden Project have been included in some previous years, but they AREN'T included this time.
You can use the pass as many times as you like, and it's valid until 2 April 2026 – see 'More info' below for how the 2for1 pass works. Some gardens need pre-booking so check in advance if it's a busy time of year. If you're going on your own, 137 gardens offer a single visitor discount.
As well as the 2for1 pass, the magazine comes with two free packets of seeds (except in Northern Ireland, where you'll only get the 2for1 gardens pass). The seed selection will differ depending on the retailer you buy from, but an example of what you could get includes Eschscholiza ‘Orange King’ and Lettuce Salad Bowl Mix – normally costing about £5.

To use the 2for1 gardens pass card, check it's valid on the day you want to visit (individual gardens may have excluded dates, such as Christmas) and then simply turn up with the card at any of the gardens listed. You'll need to sign the back of the card as you may be asked to show ID at the garden.
You can use the 2for1 card as many times as you like, but even if you visited just one garden costing more than £8, which most gardens we found were, it's worth buying the magazine if you're going to be visiting with someone else.
If you’re taking kids, it’s important to note that while this is 2for1 on two adult tickets, BBC Gardeners' World says it's down to the individual garden if it’ll accept a child as the second ticket holder. Before you make the trip, it’s worth asking those gardens that charge a significant amount for kids’ tickets.
It's valid for garden entry only (unless the guide says you can enter other parts of the grounds). It can't be used with any other offer, and excludes groups – the size will vary per garden, so check ahead.
This year, you can activate a digital version of your 2for1 gardens pass by downloading the free Gardeners' World 2 for 1 Gardens app (for Android or iOS). You can search by county and filter by facilities to find the ideal gardens to visit. You can also search by dog-friendliness, accessibility level, and whether they offer a single visitor discount.
A YEAR'S 2for1 gardens pass (for Leeds Castle, Haddon Hall etc) in £9.50 magazine
