Game 'up to 80% off'*

Also £20 voucher for £100 spend, and Frasers Plus discounts

Whether you shop online at Game* or in stores (find your nearest*), the video game retailer's Black Friday sale has now begun. One of the highlights is that you currently get a £20 voucher when you spend £100, which could come in handy if you're buying a new games console and want a decent discount for a game or extra controller to go with it.

Like last Black Friday, some of the best GAME discounts come when you use Frasers Plus, a buy now pay later scheme. It's important to understand that this is debt, and if you do not pay everything off within the three-month interest-free time frame you will pay 29.9% interest on the balance, which could end up costing you substantially more than the initial saving. See our Buy now pay later guide for more information.

Here are some of the deals we spotted on Tuesday 25 November:

MSE Rob says:

GAME isn't the powerhouse of UK videogame retail like it once was, though if you stack those £20 vouchers with Frasers Plus (assuming you're confident you'll pay off the credit within three months) then there's some good value to be had.

And while the game deals themselves are disappointing, the official PS5 and Xbox controllers are very well priced when bought via Frasers Plus.

I also never knew there was a 'Grimsby & Cleethorpe' edition of Monopoly, so you learn something new every day (though I suspect the kids would be more excited by the Marvel Super Villains edition of Monopoly that's also on sale).

Free protection for all shopping!

There's a little-known piece of legislation that turns any credit card into a financial self-defence superhero. 'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act means your plastic must protect anything you buy for more than £100 for free, so if there's a problem or the company goes bust, you can still get your money back.
And although Section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards, there is something else to fall back on if you've paid using a debit card, or used a credit card for a purchase under £100. Known as Chargeback, this is part of banks' and card companies' internal rules and not a legal requirement. Read full details of Section 75 or Chargeback, plus how to claim, in our guides.
What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it is an affiliated link and therefore it helps MoneySavingExpert stay free to use, as it is tracked to us. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment or benefit to the site. It's worth noting this means the third party used may be named on any credit agreements.
You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. Plus the editorial line (the things we write) is NEVER impacted by these links. We aim to look at all available products. If it isn't possible to get an affiliate link for the top deal, it is still included in exactly the same way, just with a non-paying link.
