Co-op members can pick up one Co-op 'Irresistible' pizza and one tub of Häagen-Dazs ice cream for £5 – less than the normal cost of the ice cream itself.

If you're not a Co-op member, you can get this deal for £6, and as Co-op membership costs £1 to join*, it's only worth signing up if you think you'll get other member-priced deals in the future.

To get the £5 deal, scan your Co-op membership card or app at the checkout when purchasing eligible products (see the full list below) in stores* or online* by Tuesday 5 May, or while stock lasts.

Each item normally costs £6.35 when purchased separately online (in-store prices may differ slightly).

What's included in the deal?

You'll need to pick up one of the following pizzas and one tub of ice cream to get the deal:

Häagen-Dazs ice cream:

• Vanilla (460ml)

• Salted Caramel (460ml)

• Strawberry Cheesecake (460ml)

• Creamy Strawberry Ice Cream Sticks (3x180ml)

• Vanilla Caramel Brownie (460ml)

Exclusions: You can't get this offer from independent societies, Midcounties, Central England, Southern or Chelmsford Star co-operatives, some Co-op franchise stores or in non-Co-op branded stores (such as Nisa). Northern Ireland is excluded.

There are always ways to save money at Co-op*, so even if there isn’t a cracking deal out there that works for you, don’t assume you can’t cut your costs further.

Ways to save include:

• Become a member. You'll have to pay £1 to join, but this gets you lifelong Co-op membership and a rewards card where you can access weekly offers and freebies. There's a free app (from Google Play or App Store) which you can use in place of (or alongside) the physical card.

• Take the Downshift Challenge. The phrasing and promotional language used in shops hypnotises us into thinking the most costly is best. While the packaging looks more opulent, look beneath to the actual product you're getting and sometimes you won't be able to tell the difference (often it's even made in the same factory).
