Martin Lewis to sue Facebook for defamation in groundbreaking campaigning lawsuit
Today (Monday 23 April), I will issue high court proceedings against Facebook, to try and stop all the disgusting repeated fake adverts from scammers it refuses to stop publishing with my picture, name and reputation. To explain it, below is the official press release announcing the action.

Martin Lewis: Spread the word – don’t believe scam Bitcoin Code or Bitcoin trading ads
I don’t do adverts. If you ever see one with my face or name on it, it is without my permission, and usually a scam. Admittedly some are supposedly legit firms bending the rules to imply a link (though do you really trust firms that’d do that anyway?). The latest Facebook ad plague with me in is...

Fraud is being attempted, yet the police won’t act
There’s a spate of cold calling going on from some companies claiming to be MoneySavingExpert.com. Recently we reported one obvious scam to the police, yet we were told they wouldn’t do anything until someone lost money. But surely we should stop it BEFORE that happens? In the past we’ve had companies trying to use our name to...

Should MSE be recommending the ‘best PPI claims handlers?’
Reclaiming payment protection insurance (PPI) has gotten much easier since the banks threw in the towel a month ago and put £6 billion aside to pay out consumers. But claims handling agencies are leaching on top of this, charging 30%+ to process claims most people can EASILY do themselves. We currently have a ‘don’t use ’em’ stance...

Warning! Don’t believe imposters working for “Martin Lewis” at Spanish airports!
We’re starting to get reports in from both Alicante and Malaga airport, that a few people have cropped up saying they’re working for me, and doing surveys about PPI misselling. This is a lie and a fraud, and with one exception (see below) everyone should walk away from them. How their scam works… The following is one...

ThinkJessica Campaign: Fighting Scam mail
I’ve been contacted via GMTV by the founder of the ThinkJessica campaign, which has been set up by the daughter of the victim of a hideous scam mail to try and stop something similar happening to other people. She wants me to record the voicemail message that people get when they call it up. Before I explain...

Ponzis and pyramids… what’s the difference?
The Madoff scam in the USA is thought to have cost people up to £50 billion, and there’s talk of similar schemes having been operated in the UK. Yet I’ve read a lot of confusion about what’s happened. Sometimes it’s called a pyramid scheme; other times a Ponzi. So I thought I’d do a quick blog to...

Martin Lewis VIDEO: Should you pay off your Plan 1 student loan?
11 January 2021If you started university between 1998 and 2012, or since then in Scotland and Northern Ireland, you'll have a Plan 1 student loan. While much is written about whether those with savings should overpay the current English Plan 2 student loans, there's little out there about Plan 1. I wanted to change that, so here's a video explaining how to decide... -
Martin Lewis: Payment holidays coming to an end – but should you take one? Mortgages, credit cards, loans, payday loans, car finance and more
5 January 2021Within the last week, we've seen the extension of coronavirus credit card, personal loan and overdraft help to 31 October 2020, with mortgage payment holidays already extended. The regulator's other help schemes are also likely to be extended too, including car finance and payday loans, yet should you do it?
