Martin Lewis: 11m will see energy bills cut on 1 Oct – but check if you’re being RIPPED OFF
I can reveal that on 1 October, it is almost certain the energy price cap rate, for all but those on prepay meters, will drop by roughly £80/year. This means 11 million households on these tariffs will get cheaper deals. Yet that worries me. It risks giving people a false sense of security that they're getting a good price – when nothing could be further from the truth.

Why the energy price cap is broken – it doesn't reflect the price people pay today (video)…
On 1 January 2019, a cap was introduced on the prices that energy firms could charge on their standard (ie, default) tariffs.

Martin Lewis: Why it’s the PERFECT time to check if you can reclaim £100s of energy credit
The sun has got its hat on – hip hip hip hooray. The sun has got its hat on – check your bills without delay. Well, it almost scans, but at least my message is on point.

Why don’t we include energy firms’ kilowatt hour costs in our weekly email?
I always suggest, when you’re doing an energy comparison, to enter the kilowatt hours (kWh) figure from your bill, if possible, as it gives a more accurate result than entering the cost. (Though the sin of inaction is far greater than the sin of inaccuracy – so if you’re unsure, don’t be put off.)
