It was foggy this morning, so rather than brave my bicycle, my usual mode of transport to get to money-saving towers, I decided I’d nip on the bus.
In front of me in the queue was a young mother with a small baby. And it was so cold you could see the hot breath coming out of both of their mouths. Even though the bus was mostly empty when she tried to get on, the pram space was full. She was told by the bus driver she couldn’t, and had to carry the pram back off.
There was space for me, so I got on, and sat in plenty of space. There’s something very distasteful about leaving a mother and baby to sit and wait though. Sometimes health and safety rules go a bit far.
