Being recognised cuts no ice

I was flying back from Manchester to London. On the way through the security check the guard said to me “excuse me sir, is this your coat?” As I said yes he began to check it. As he’s doing it he says “so what’s the cheapest credit card to have? I don’t have one”

As he wasn’t going to borrow and was going to spend around £7k a year I suggested the Amex Blue (see Best Cashback Card article). Once he’d finished, I said “so you know who I am, but you still wanted to check my coat?” His answer: “it’s a good excuse to ask you the question!”

Of course no one is above security checks, but sometimes being recognised closes not opens doors
